The
elegance and opulence of the historic turn-of-the-century Stone Mansion
awaits you. The Stone Mansion, completed in 1904, was designed by
noted architects I.H. & William Rapp. It is a unique
example of early 20th century aesthetic sensibility. It is a
Victorian shingle style in transition to the Art & Crafts movement. The
interior is expansive, but contains many classical elements. The
original quarter-sawn golden oak woodwork is magnificent. The home is
furnished with museum quality oil paintings, furniture, and family
heirlooms, all in keeping with the period of the house.
The public areas on the first floor are
comfortable and inviting. Guests are greeted in the Mansion's
spacious entry parlor, and may relax in the beautiful living room.
For more intimate surroundings, enjoy our cozy library. Meals are
served in our lavish dining room. Wireless Internet is available to our
guests.
Quaint
spacious rooms and baths are located on the second floor. Each guest
room accommodates two and is ideal for a romantic getaway. In the
morning, refresh yourself in a vintage 1920's bath, featuring multiple
shower heads and oversized tubs. Recently added is a third room with a
private bath.
In
the late afternoon and early evening, refreshments are served in our
elegant living room or, weather permitting, on the Stone Mansion's enormous
front porch. A sumptuous gourmet breakfast is offered in the dining
room every morning. For those who wish to experience and explore the
town, we are a scant two blocks from the shops, galleries, museums, and
restaurants on Trinidad's Main Street, the center of the unique El Corazon
de Trinidad National Historic District.
The
location, service, and charm of the Stone Mansion make it a delightfully
inviting retreat for any time or occasion. Visit us as a
vacation destination or simply a pleasant way point on a longer journey.
